Resistivity System
M9114 Electrical Properties System
Grace Instrument's M9114 Electrical Properties System determines rock resistivity for fully and partially brine-saturated core samples at ambient conditions. The resistivity measurement is based on the 2 or 4 electrodes method. Two electrodes are able to clamp around the circumference of the rock sample. The data obtained from this device can be utilized to derive formation factor, cementation exponent “m”, resistivity index, and Archie saturation exponent “n”. (Saturation exponent calculation requires the known saturation condition (Sw) of the core sample, which cannot be measured by M9114.)
The platens of the system can press the core end faces with constant pressure. The system is equipped with a transparent cover to isolate the rock sample from external environment. The LCR meter can measure core resistance and brine resistance. Its PC software displays and records resistivity measurements of core samples.
